One of our most exciting projects yet, the St. Mary’s Priory, Tallaght, nature restoration project is a community initiative led by Dodder Action to transform areas of intensively managed lawn within grounds with a monastic history dating back to the 8th century into a thriving landscape for nature, people and climate resilience.
This very ambitious project is inspired by Pope Francis’s landmark document Laudato Si, which has led to a target of 30 percent of church lands in Ireland given over to biodiversity. It will enhance biodiversity, improve rainwater management, create educational opportunities and provide a peaceful natural space for visitors while respecting the site’s rich cultural, religious and historical heritage.
